Me, Englishman Falls, Vancouver Island BC
To start the two-month countdown to my exhibition "Low Tide" at Crafthouse Gallery, I'm pulling together some photos from our recent trip to the West Coast of Vancouver Island including the Wild Pacific Trail of Ucluelet, and the beaches, bogs and forests around Long Beach and Tofino, British Columbia.
This part of the West Coast has greatly inspired my landscape series of artwork.
I find the rugged landscape reveals beautiful vistas in every direction.
My co-adventurer. We're not afraid of a little rain.
The view from Radar Hill.
The edges of the earth.
Driftwood, Schooner Cove.
59 days until my textile art show "Low Tide" at Crafthouse Gallery, Granville Island. June 17 to July 25 2010.
The show will then travel to Knotty Threads, Fulford Harbour, Saltspring Island for September 2010. It's interesting that the exhibition will be island-hopping, since much of the inspiration is coming from coastal islands: Mayne Island and Vancouver Island.
