I really enjoyed meeting the students in the first year Surface Design class at Capilano University this morning. They were welcoming, and open-to-dialogue during my presentation.
The classroom felt like home, even though I graduated from the Textile Art program way back in 2000.
Students and alumni have been busy gaining recognition in the arts community. Recently, Jessica Thistlethwaite's work was featured in the Student Award Winners Exhibit Fresh Craft at Crafthouse Gallery; and Circle Craft featured the work of Corrina Suveges in the Student Scholarship Recipients Exhibit.
On a more alternative note, I came across an exciting project called Tree Cozy on Granville Street, downtown Vancouver.
