Spring has often been the source of immense inspiration for writers, composers and artists. It is a time of blossom trees and rebirth. In her exhibition of fabric art, at the Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Gardens, Kirsten explores the wonders of spring. She combines sewing, embroidery, appliqué and design to build layers of fabrics and stitches.
With this body of work Kirsten gives the viewer a glimpse of what lies below the soil, as well as what hangs above our heads. Bulbs burst up into bloom, and smooth blue eggs nestle in rugged, yet intricate, nests.
